Code of Conduct

A safe space

We at Lindy What? strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all attendees at our dance festival. To ensure everyone feels safe and respected, we ask that all participants adhere to the following code of conduct:

  • Discrimination of any kind, including but not limited to race, nationality, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, age, will not be tolerated and may result in being excluded from the event.
Harassments and transgressions of any kind will not be tolerated either and may bear the same consequences as discrimination.
  • You are individually responsible for practicing good floorcraft; i.e. paying attention to other dancers around you, looking out for your dance partner, not performing aerials, only dancing dips with consent.
  • We encourage anyone to ask anyone to dance. Anyone can respond with “no, thank you”’ An explanation is never required.
  • Good hygiene can make dancing more comfortable for everyone, so bring a change of clothes, deodorant & mints if you need them.
  • Our classes and social dances are not the place for unsolicited feedback. During classess this is reserved for teachers.

Care Team

It’s important for us to make our event and our community as safe and welcoming as possible. This is something we’ll try to be aware of in everything we do during the weekend. There will be a Care Team available during the workshops and parties.

Please feel free to talk to them about any concerns you may have, or if you are feeling discomfort for any reason. You will not have to come forth in person and can stay anonymous while your concerns are being addressed.
