We were honoured to have had international Lindy Hoppers Ari and Simon as teachers at our first What’s Hop festivals. During the covid lockdown we kept contact with them. In that period on the occasion of our 7th birthday (2021) they choreographed an energetic and fun routine specially for us. We loved it! We learned the routine with them in an online workshop and received the recap. We use the recap to keep the routine alive, so we can perform it at socials.
In 2024 at the 10th anniversary of Lindy What!? we organised our biggest festival yet. It was the first festival after the covid years. This made it the perfect moment to showcase the routine to the community. We asked the Kalishnikovs to make an arrangement of the “Dominic Swing” tailored to the occassion. The attendees of the festival were offered an opportunity to learn the routine beforehand and we invited them to dance the routine with us at the party. It was a big success and a lot of fun.
You can be sure that learning and performing this routine will be part of this festival again. You’re invited to join in.
The music used in the routine:
Dominic Swing performed by Earl Hines & his Orchestra from the album Classic Earl Hines Sessions (1928-1945)-Vol.3&4
